Unnecessary things we bother ourselves about

Growing up in a neighbourhood where there's little or no love at all posted a great challenge for me as a child. in these kind of neighbourhood, people tend to bother themselves with some issues that one have little or no choice about. Have you ever stare at your self in the mirror and start getting yourself worried over your looks, stature and the colour of your skin? these are things you don't have a say over, sometime ago, i had been so worried about my height that i vehemently prayed and wish to increase my height, but in the course of that i remembered a passage in the Holy book where God "said" let's make "MAN" in our own image. Right there and then i began to have a new perspective to the whole scenario. Let me ask you this question: if you were consciously present during your creation would you have chosen a different look, different colour and different stature? whatever your answer is, let me assure you that God was fare in the whole process of your creation because he has created you in his own image, what you need do is to maintain the identity you have and making sure you give it the best reputation and integrity (at least you owe yourself that much). Henceforth, whenever you stare at yourself in the mirror, keep a straight face, raise your shoulder high and say these word: "I am created after God's image". So things you cannot change, it's of no use fighting yourself over it, instead, embrace it and make the best use out of it. See every challenge as an opportunity for greatness.

My View on IBB's Presidential Ambition

I was on an evening stroll yesterday and I passed through some IBB posters that some Anti IBB group had pasted on every walls and poles in the Maryland neighbourhood of Lagos state expressing some reasons why Nigerians should not even consider voting for the RTD General and I was struck with a thought about the whole scenario.

Now, he (IBB) decided to run for the seat of the number one citizen of the country come 2011, he made some public appearances and declaration towards that motive. Suddenly, of all the politicians that have made known publicly of their intentions to contest for public offices in the 2011 election, he is the only person that has been getting popular criticism from different groups in the country. I rarely see any of his campaign adverts or awareness either in the print Medias or by any other means, instead, what I normally come across these days are the criticism messages and sponsored adverts against the mandate of this formal military president. My point is that he (IBB) has made his mark in this country and in the continent’s history.

What more can a man ask for? Without his campaign organization paying for adverts in the newspapers, on the internet and campaign jingles in radio stations and on television channels, some “ANTI” groups have made it a matter of DUTY to fund the criticism campaigns against the General in all forms of the media, hence, giving him more popularity and drawing a lot of attention to his personality. What I mean is that some of us prior to the 1993 presidential election result annulment, little did we know on how Nigeria’s politics is been played but with the recent fracas going on in our dear country, we have been forced to go back to history and start making necessary enquiries from every useful means and materials as to what really transpired back then. We all know that even Judas Iscariot has his followers, every bad man in every movie will have at least one audience that will fancy him, therefore in this case, am sure the General, due to even the criticism messages and all would have found new faithfuls.

We all are just trying our best to at least leave a legacy that good memories will be shared about us after we have left this mystery world.

As for the General, Sir (if I could be pardoned to accord him that respect), you have made your MARK and I suggest that the ovation is quite high now and it would be a better thing to take a bow now and allow your numerous disciples to keep worshipping you.

The World's Greatest!

Growing up as a child, i use to read and also heard gists about some important people in my country (Nigeria), then, i'd ask older people around me (my dad and older ones) some simple questions, questions like what makes these people so important and why are they so great? But the answers i got to all my questions weren't satisfying enough but i stopped stressing it because i was sure that in the future i would come to know why these personalities were so exceptional.

Some few years ago, i was a complete bachelor, living in a studio apartment in a neighborhood that's filled with a lot of young people that were still living under their parents, so it was natural for me to become like a local champion among my peers, so i became famous in the neighbourhood especially among the folks that likes to social a lot because i was always at a social function or simply partying somewhere.

The truth is, you 're what you call yourself, if you have a lot of material things and money and yet you call yourself poor then the world will see you as a poor man because that's what you made them believe, even if you 're homeless, out of cash and totally disorganized and you keep given people the impression that there's a trace of greatness in you very soon the greatness will start becoming obvious and visible for the whole world to see.

Greatness is something you can achieve through hard work or you could possess it and some people are born great, so if you want to be great, wake up everyday and say to yourself that you are GREAT and work towards making it visible for all to see
